Chile has embraced the dream of an inclusive, high-quality education. However, there are currently three fundamental problems that affect the possibilities of moving towards inclusive quality education: a) a tension between the logic of educational integration and inclusion; b) a market-driven model that does not consider public values and c) a new educational architecture based on the logic of individual accountability. In order to properly address these issues, we propose the creation of a transdisciplinary Center for Research in Inclusive Education whose general objective is to develop transdisciplinary research on the individual, organizational, and policy-level factors necessary for achieving a quality inclusive education, to support public policies through the proposal and transference of evidence-based interventions and strategies for an inclusive education, and to form advanced human capital for research in inclusive education. The transdisciplinary center will bring together eight researchers whose work will be organized in the following research lines: 1. School climate and wellbeing; 2. Citizenship and civic education; 3. Motivation and commitment to classrooms and schools/institutions; 4. School and classroom practices for inclusion; 5. Management policies and practices for inclusion; 6. Evaluation and curriculum for inclusion; 7. Student trajectories and transicions.; 8. Development of tools and strategies for achieving an inclusive education. structured according to the thematic lines, with different yet complementary methodological approaches
